Meet Shanna
A guide, a learner, a listener
Hi, I’m Shanna a Clinical Mental Health Counselor and founder of Serenic Counseling Services. I specialize in helping women, typically in their late 30’s-50’s who feel anxious, stuck, overwhelmed or unfulfilled, rediscover themselves, build healthier relationships and step into a more authentic balanced life. Therapy provides a space to reflect, and uncover what’s been holding you back.
With over 10 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families, my approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. I combine evidence-based strategies with compassion and a deep belief that lasting change is possible.
How I Support You
During our work together, I’ll help you challenge unhelpful thoughts and responses, provide new perspectives, and give practical tools to manage challenges with confidence. Think of me as a guide—helping you uncover patterns, make empowered choices, and move from surviving to truly thriving.
My Approach
My approach to therapy is simple. I meet you where you are with no judgment. Together, we will explore what’s weighing you down, uncover the patterns that keep you stuck, and create space for you to reconnect with yourself. Therapy isn’t about fixing you , it’s about supporting you in living more authentically while cultivating a healthier relationship with yourself and others.
Philosophy/Inclusivity:
While I often work with women and couples, anyone who resonates with a reflective, grounded approach is welcome here. What inspires me most is witnessing resiliency, transformation, and growth in my clients.
Evidence-Based Approaches
Some of the approaches I use include:
• Mindfulness – develop awareness and manage stress
• Narrative Therapy – explore and reframe the stories you tell about yourself
• Strength-Based Approaches – build on your existing strengths to create change
• Solution-Focused Techniques – focus on goals and practical steps forward
• Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) challenge unhelpful beliefs and build healthier thinking patterns
First Session
In your first session, we’ll explore what brought you to therapy and determine the best ways to help you make progress. We may explore both past and present experiences, always focusing on your resiliency, choices, and practical solutions.
